The Kent Cos. owns and operates 73 convenience stores and 18 truck stops under the Kent Kwik and Bountyland banners, up from the 53 c-stores it operated at the end of 2020. Its stores and truck stops are in six states: Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and North and South Carolina. Besides its company-owned stores, it has 152 dealer locations. It sells Chevron, Texaco and Exxon branded fuels.
During 2022, the company opened a new c-store and a new truck stop in Midland, Texas, and a new truck stop in San Angelo, Texas. It has announced plans to acquire 14 Tom Thumb Food Stores Inc. in Florida.
While most of the company's stores use the Kent Kwik banner, its 11 Bountyland Food stores in South Carolina and North Carolina, acquired in October 2021, have retained the Bountyland name. In 2022, the company launched Kent Kwik private-label items, such as Kent Kwik-branded chips and water. It is installing self-checkout kiosks in new and remodeled stores.
For benchmarking purposes, store counts are as of Jan. 1, 2023.
