Zonai Capsules serve as portable versions of the ever-so-useful Zonai Devices that power most of the machines in the game, and if you haven't played around much with these handy orbs, you're missing out. Here's how you can use and get more Zonai Capsules.
Updated by Nick McDoanld on May 30, 2023: Zonai Capsules are an ever-present tool in The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom that you'll use to create all sorts of wacky vehicles and solve countless puzzles. We added and updated our tips to better reflect the best ways to use, find, and stock up on these portable devices as well as including links that will better direct you toward useful content.
The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom has an amazingly open-ended crafting system through the use of Ultrahand and Zonai devices — with all their various uses — to make that system that much more interesting. However, you won't always have the right Zonai Device on hand, and that is where the new Zonai Capsules come in.
These small orbs serve as portable, one-use Zonai Devices, and to a large extent, you can treat them as normal inventory items. To access them, simply go into your inventory, drop the device you'd like to use, and it'll appear on the ground in front of you.
The device will work as it normally does, but you won't be able to return it to the capsule after you're done. Instead, you'll have to get a new capsule of the same type if you want to replenish your inventory.
If you want to get really creative, keep in mind that you can use Zonai Devices for more than just creating cool vehicles: You can also fuse them onto weapons and arrows. For example, Frost Emitters on shields and weapons can serve as an invaluable tool in combat whenever you need a few enemies to chill out for a bit.
You can carry any amount of Zonai Capsules at one time. You're only limited by how much time you took to prepare beforehand, and most of the Zonai Devices in the game are available in capsule form, but they can be a bit hard to find.

The easiest and best way to get Zonai Capsules is through Device Dispensers. You can find them scattered throughout Hyrule. These dispensers let you trade in Zonai Charges and Construct Horns, both materials you find from the hostile constructs that populate the sky islands, for random Zonai Capsules.
Each dispenser has a short list of Zonai Devices it can give you in capsule form. Whenever you feed that dispenser, you'll get a random assortment of all the available Zonai Devices.
Try to remember the location of Device Dispensers that give you your favorite devices.
Feeding these dispenser items is easy enough. It works the same way as cooking; hold whatever you'd like to process in your hands and drop it in the bowl in front of the Device Dispenser. However, there are no recipes or combos to be had here.
While any Zonai Charge or Construct Horn will do, certain ones will give you more Zonai Capsules at once. To be specific, all Construct Horns, regardless of tier, will give you just one Zonai Capsule. Zonai Charges will give you two capsules each, and a Large Zonai Charge will give you a whopping 10 capsules.
If you're looking to stock up on a ton of Zonai Capsules, you'll first need to get your hands on plenty of materials you could feed to the capsule dispensers. The best way to do this is to buy Zonai Charges from the Forge Constructs you find scattered throughout the Depths. You can buy 30 charges for just 60 Zoanite, which, when exchanged at dispensers, will net you exactly 60 Zonai Capsules.
You can find Device Dispensers just about anywhere, but the best place to look by far is on Sky Islands. Nearly every sky island with a shrine will also have a corresponding Device Dispenser for you to unlock and use at your leisure.
Aside from the dispensers in the sky, you can also find a few outside Kakariko Village, Tarry Town, and on the bridge just before the Gerudo Canyon. There are even a few Device Dispensers in the Depths underneath the Popla Foothills and Death Mountain.
