After completing the In-isa Shrine, the game suggests you go through a cavern in order to learn about Zonai technology. There are certainly several new mechanic introductions down that path, but the most fun one of all lies at the very end: A blast from the past of using quarters in machines, except without quarters. Here's how to use the Device Dispenser in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Follow the path set out for you after the In-isa Shrine—that means going past a cave, over a pond, and then up the path until you find another cave.

You will first learn how to use fan technology, then how to mine and exchange Zonaite for more Zonai Charges, and then you’ll learn about Zonai Capsules.

This Construct explains these devices on the table are small capsule porters for larger Zonai technology, such as the fan you used earlier to get across the lake (More on that here). They’ll give you the three on the table for free.

Free stuff is always great. Test one out by deploying it. Be careful deploying them, however, because it's easy to press A multiple times and accidentally deploy more, and they can't be put back in.

Now attach it to the cart and go.

Once you ride the cart out of the cave, however, you’re greeted with the last of the string of new mechanics: the Device Dispenser.

The Construct on duty explains to you if you put in Zonai Charges or Construct Horns, you’ll get five random Zonai device capsules out of it. That's right, we now have, completely canon to the Zelda lore: A giant gumball machine. And it's the most exciting thing yet.

So what are you waiting for? How to use the Device Dispenser is simple. Go to your inventory and select the Soldier Construct Horns—they’re not making themselves useful any other way. Have Link hold as many as you can fit, then approach the hole and drop them in.

A short cutscene plays the machine opening and dispensing your random capsules. You can run around and pick them up. Now you have as much shiny new free ancient technology to come in handy later as you have the materials for.
